New Chapter
This is Brad and Kristin, expecting their first child soon!
They are a very sweet couple and also dear friends of ours, and we are very excited for them to become parents. We had a rainy session day, so stayed cozy indoors at their home.
For a memory of this time of their lives, I think that was the perfect choice...
Besides, what pregnant woman wants to stand outside and get soaked?!

I love the guitar in the background - that was there when I got there!
Brad plays and sings to his wife and baby. Yeah, he is pretty sweet.

Guess what they're having!?
Hint: the pink walls - carefully painted by Brad (he's nesting too) :)
I know Kristin, and she's a girly girl, so she's going to have a hard time
fighting the urge to buy lots of little pink outfits... and let me tell you, the closet is already filling up!
It's so cute, because it's just another sign of how they can't wait to meet her!

Enjoy these last few weeks as a just a couple before "baby makes three"... try not to wish them away. This time of peace and quiet will soon become a hazy memory, but don't worry, you won't want it back anyway.
~ Kristin you are beautiful! ~
You are both so great with our kids, there is no doubt that you will naturally be wonderful parents to your own! We're so happy for you. Thank you for letting me photograph you and capture this precious time in your lives.

Perfect Timing
This is 1-year-old Clare... She is such a little doll!
Our session at the Celery Flats in Portage was a lot of fun.
All week I watched the ever-changing forecast, and was so relieved that
Saturday morning it was bright and overcast,
with a little sunshine here and there...
perfect!

I had never been to the Celery Flats, but it is a very beautiful park.
There was a pond, and all along the edge of it were countless frogs,
practically climbing on top of each other, and making lots of noise!
In a way it was kind of neat, but it was also kind of gross,
there were just so many.
(yeah I snapped a picture of a frog too, but I'll leave that out for now...)

So, as things were wrapping up, the wind picked up... a lot!
Clare's little squeals picked up too, and she was telling us that she had enough modeling for one day. We headed out and within minutes of leaving the park, the skies opened up and a huge thunderstorm hit - buckets of rain - and continued through the rest of the day and night!
I am SO glad we missed that storm and had good weather, and Clare was such a sweetie.
I know it's only coincidence, but that day it really felt like the rain was holding off just for us.
So many beautiful images, but I have to share this one
of Clare looking up at her daddy with those big gorgeous eyes!

I have more to do, and will probably post a couple more here, but wanted to get a few up for you before the weekend was through ...
...and I made it just in time! ;-)

Spider-Man!
My friend Leticia makes cakes for special occasions. She's really quite good at what she does, and I am seriously thinking of hiring her for our kids' cake(s) this coming fall! These Spider-Man cupcakes are for a boy's 4th birthday party tomorrow. I'm sure he's going to go crazy when he sees them :) Nice work, Tiece!

Para Siempre

siempre [se-em'-pray] adverb - forever.
Kelly & Heath are getting ready for a June wedding
on the beach in Riviera Maya, Mexico! It is going to be beautiful...
They came from the Windy City to our neck of the woods, and I captured
some great engagement photos around Kelly's home town of Grand Rapids.
More to come...

Belly Laughs
This morning I met with Amber and Ryan downtown. They are expecting their first child soon and were willing to brave the cold for some photos to celebrate this moment in their lives.

Amber looks fabulous at almost 31 weeks! I loved the spring colors of her sweater and jacket, and I swear the woman is incapable of a bad hair day. Ryan loves to goof around a little bit and was constantly making Amber laugh. The fact that they're a good looking couple just made my job easier - I ended up with so many great shots it was hard to pick only a few to post tonight.

At their home I was able to get some classic-looking images of Amber that show off the bump! This was one of many that I loved... it's just timeless.

Thank you both for letting me photograph you today.
I can't wait to find out if you have a boy or a girl, and meet your precious baby!
I hope you enjoyed your preview. More to come...
Here are a few more of my favorites from Amber and Ryan!
