Tiffany and Jeremy
were married a couple weeks ago on a perfect fall day.
Sandy Morrow and I were there to capture all the details

The ring bearer tested out the aisle before the ceremony...

Dimnent Memorial Chapel is so gorgeous...
and holds special meaning to Tiff and Jeremy,
who met as students at Hope College.
I might be a little biased because I also attended Hope,
but I don't think anyone would disagree that it is beautiful.
I've never been able to photograph this space
completely empty, chandeliers lit, and the sun
streaming through the stained glass.

The day was going so smoothly... well, almost!
Of course all the planning done by Tiffany, Jeremy,
and their family and friends went off without a hitch!
Unfortunately I was not so lucky - I missed a step at the chapel
just before the ceremony and sprained my ankle!
Guests were arriving, and I had to sit and wait
for EMT's (ordered by the chapel manager)
to check me out before I could get back to work.
I was fortunate that it was just a sprain and not a break,
and I was able to continue shooting the rest of the day.
I won't lie, I had some pain later that night, but
all in all it wasn't that bad.
It seems like each wedding has its own little "hiccup" -
this time it was me!
I will be especially extra careful from now on!!!

I love how they kept the decorations at the chapel
so simple... these lanterns and leaves were the perfect touch.

Jeremy's sister Jennifer sang "Blessed" by Rachel Lampa
during communion, and did an amazing job... she has a beautiful voice!

Sisters know how to make each other laugh...

Love the shoes :)

Tiffany and Jeremy didn't see each other
until she entered the chapel to walk down the aisle...
so we made sure to take some time for portraits
of just the two of them - right where he proposed!

Tiffany, it was great getting to know you over the summer,
talking about anything and everything, and of course
your wedding plans! It was a perfect day because
it reflected you and Jeremy -
your choices of where to be traditional and where to break from the norm
were refreshing and memorable, and just you, as a couple, which is what makes everything so special.
I hope your wedding day was exactly how you envisioned it would be.
Congratulations, and thank you again for letting me be the one
to capture these moments for you.

Amy & LD | Engaged
Amy and LD braved some really cool temps with me
last week for their engagement session,
although you'd never know it to look at their pictures...
But what I really loved was spending a little time
with them again.
They are so down-to-earth, calm, and relaxed,
and already seem to be one with each other.
Looking back at their session I can really remember
feeling that vibe from them, and thinking
I am so lucky to have yet another wonderful wedding couple
to work with!

This one might be my favorite from the session...
I still can't decide! :)

I know it's almost a year away,
but I truly am looking forward to your wedding!
Congratulations again, and have fun planning your big day...

Matt & Kim | Expecting!
Last weekend I visited Matt and Kim
at their historic home in Grand Rapids.
I had to smile when I entered the foyer at all the
amazing and unique details inside and outside of their home...
Everywhere I looked I saw something special,
plus all the fabulous Halloween decorations!
It was so nice talking with them both,
and they are truly wonderful, kind people.
They will be amazing parents... you can just tell
by their personalities and the love they show each other.

Putting aside my fear of garden gnomes for a moment...
This picture just makes me smile.
Maybe they're not so bad afterall! ;)

Kim is due in December and she looks great!

They are seriously so adorable!

I love this neighborhood - so many beautiful, colorful houses,
and theirs is just an incredible reflection of them as people.
I love that years from now they will have this snapshot
of where they were in their lives.
What they looked like, and
where they were living is part of that story.
What a lovely place to bring their baby home to!

It was so nice to meet you both,
and I hope the next couple of months go by smoothly!
Enjoy this special time preparing for
your son or daughter...
I can't wait to hear the news when your child arrives! :)

Danielle & Dave | 10.10.09
I met Danielle and Dave earlier this summer.
My first meetup with Danielle was great, and we clicked right away, talking
about her wedding plans and details. :)
I was so geeked driving home from that first coffee date,
and I called my husband from the road to tell him that
I had booked my first wedding!
Not that shooting portraits and details for my sister's big day,
or my second-shooting experiences weren't amazing...
but this was a big step for me, and I had been looking
forward to this day ever since!
The sun was shining that morning, and it set the tone for the entire day.

So gorgeous...

Danielle and Dave saw each other for portraits before the ceremony.
I set up a first look for them and put myself at a distance so
they could have a few moments by themselves...

Sisters!

Back in the church! It was pretty chilly out, and all the
bridal party members were really good sports about it.
This arch was built by Danielle's dad!

Reception at Harbourfront Grand Hall in Grand Haven...

I can't wait to show you the rest of your wedding day photos!
Everyone from both families, and all your friends, were so nice
and it was an honor to be a part of your day right from the start.
Thank you for everything!
I am so happy for you both,
and I hope you are having a great time in Jamaica!

Addy | 1 Year Old
This little cutie is Adelyn Grace, and she just turned one year old!
Her mommy is an old classmate of mine from high school,
and I had so much fun reconnecting with a friend and
taking photos of her gorgeous little girl!

What adorable clothes - this little green coat is so cute!

Addy loves walking around holding onto mama's hand or finger...
she's really getting the hang of it!
She's just a couple days older than my son, so I'm going
through pretty much the same stage right now with him. :)

Although it was pretty chilly out, she still gave us a few smiles!

Okay, give the lady a jacket!

Oooooooh! ;)

She loved watching the cars, saying, "bye bye!" to everyone!

Back in the warm house!!! :)

My goodness, this was a fun session. I got to hang out and talk to an old friend,
and take pictures of this little sweetie-pie. It had been a little while
since I got to photograph a little girl,
so I was so excited when Staci e-mailed me!
Thanks so much for having me over
and letting me capture this stage in Addy's life!

Laura & Matt | Engaged
Laura and Matt met up with me in Holland
on an absolutely perfect early fall afternoon for their engagement session.
They are such sweet people, and so cute together...
they were just naturally affectionate and comfortable
having their picture taken,
so I ended up with a lot of amazing images... :)

I found out about this park from a good relafriend (yes I just invented a word),
and I just love, love, love all these tall pines. Thank you, Trish!

I love the next few, with the little white flowers...
some of my favorite pictures ever ;)

Then we headed over to Tunnel Park for some beach pictures...
the sun was bright and it actually felt really warm!
You just never know what the weather will do in Michigan!

This was probably the last time my bare feet will be in Lake Michigan.
The waves were getting really big, and it was hard to get a shot
before the footprints were washed away!

We made the trek to the Tunnel and got a few more... :)

Love this one!

One more for the road...

Enjoy the excitement of planning for your big day,
it will be here before you know it!
I am so happy and honored that you have chosen me to be your photographer,
and I can't wait for your wedding! :)
