High school sweethearts...
now about to become parents for the first time!
I have known Jason for his entire life (we're cousins),
and he and Megan have been together for several years,
so she has been a part of our family for a very long time.
They were married a few years ago,
and now they are about to welcome a little girl
into our big crazy family. ;)
In just a few weeks we will all be taking turns holding
the newest little bundle of joy!
I can't wait.
So, on New Years Eve I visited them at their home
to get these portraits.
I hope someday they look back at them,
remembering this time fondly, who they were, and what they felt.

it looks so cute! I love the stripes. Nice job!
Finishing touches are probably going in now,
she's had her baby showers, and the only thing missing is
their little girl! So exciting.

I'm not even sure what it was anymore, but I love it!

I am sorry to say this, I can't resist:
it really is something to see my "little" cousin all grown up,
and about to become a dad!!!
I am really proud of both of you.

and I can't wait to meet your daughter!

Last weekend I visited Matt and Kim

at their historic home in Grand Rapids.
I had to smile when I entered the foyer at all the
amazing and unique details inside and outside of their home...
Everywhere I looked I saw something special,
plus all the fabulous Halloween decorations!

It was so nice talking with them both,
and they are truly wonderful, kind people.
They will be amazing parents... you can just tell
by their personalities and the love they show each other.




Putting aside my fear of garden gnomes for a moment...
This picture just makes me smile.
Maybe they're not so bad afterall! ;)




Kim is due in December and she looks great!




They are seriously so adorable!



I love this neighborhood - so many beautiful, colorful houses,
and theirs is just an incredible reflection of them as people.
I love that years from now they will have this snapshot
of where they were in their lives.
What they looked like, and
where they were living is part of that story.
What a lovely place to bring their baby home to!



It was so nice to meet you both,
and I hope the next couple of months go by smoothly!

This is Brad and Kristin, expecting their first child soon!
They are a very sweet couple and also dear friends of ours, and we are very excited for them to become parents. We had a rainy session day, so stayed cozy indoors at their home.
For a memory of this time of their lives, I think that was the perfect choice...
Besides, what pregnant woman wants to stand outside and get soaked?!

This morning I met with Amber and Ryan downtown. They are expecting their first child soon and were willing to brave the cold for some photos to celebrate this moment in their lives.



Amber looks fabulous at almost 31 weeks! I loved the spring colors of her sweater and jacket, and I swear the woman is incapable of a bad hair day. Ryan loves to goof around a little bit and was constantly making Amber laugh. The fact that they're a good looking couple just made my job easier - I ended up with so many great shots it was hard to pick only a few to post tonight.

At their home I was able to get some classic-looking images of Amber that show off the bump! This was one of many that I loved... it's just timeless.
