The R Family

Once upon a time, I photographed this young engaged couple - we did a beautiful session on a sailboat (now I want to go locate those images and share them, maybe I’ll do a throwback post!) and then a fairytale-worthy wedding day at Hope College in Holland, MI. It was one of my all-time favorites, and much of that is because Kelsey and Josh are so sweet together, and have been wonderful to work with. We picked up where we left off years ago, with the kind of familiarity that comes along with being let in to someone’s life - temper tantrums and messy minivans and all. It’s actually a huge honor when families aren’t afraid to be “real” with me. I’ve been there, done that, and I get it! I was thrilled to meet their three precious children and see the family they have built together! They were in the midst of moving out of their home in preparation for building a new one - a momentous change for everyone! I can’t wait to see it. We took some photos to document the place they have raised their family so far. We also visited the site of their future home and explored all of the places where they will make memories for years to come. It is an amazing location!

I don’t usually write this much, but it was very cool to see how life has unfolded for them since we last saw each other, and I hope everything goes well with the build, and beyond. Kelsey and Josh, thank you so much for our session last fall. Wishing your family all the best!
